Loft Insulation

Hand putting wall insulation into a cabity wall

Heat rises, and it’s estimated that a third of household heat can escape through the loft if it’s not properly insulated. Current guidelines recommend a depth of 270mm for glass wool, 250mm for rock wool, and 220mm for cellulose insulation.

At Go To Eco, loft insulation is unrolled in the property’s loft space. The initial layer is placed between the joists (the horizontal beams on the loft floor), followed by a second layer laid at right angles to the first.

While it’s possible to install loft insulation yourself, we recommend that the work be done by a qualified installer for optimal results.

When insulation is fitted to the loft floor, it reduces heat loss from the living space below, leaving the loft as a cold space. Without proper ventilation, this can lead to damp and condensation issues.

Loft insulation is an effective way to retain heat in a property and can save up to 20% on energy bills. Good loft insulation also helps to reduce the property’s carbon footprint.
